About the Collection Vibia Empty
The LED outdoor lights Empty by Vibia combine the functions of a light fixture and of a piece of furniture. Depending on their size, the bollard lights serve as side tables or stools, can serve singly or can be put together to form fancy lighting landscapes. The design is signed by the Spanish design Xuclà.
The Empty bollard lights are made of polymer concrete. Their shape is based on simple bricks, however two side walls are missing, revealing the light body's inside. The diffuser of PMMA is formed and placed in such a manner that it remains concealed from most angles. The warm white light emitted by the integrated LEDs brightens the concrete body's inside and falls on the floor in front of the light. The light body's shape blocks the light upwards, prevents glare and light pollution and lends it a mysterious and nearly magical note.
The collection is meant to form unique groups functioning as lighting sculptures and architectural elements and transforming the outdoor space. By day, they have a strongly decorative effect and function as a seat or pedestal. Its clear design and beautiful material adapt to modern architecture, yet are sufficiently archetypical to harmonize with nature or any other architectural style. Terraces, gardens, public places and outdoor areas in restaurants get versatile highlights with Empty. Depending on the lights' arrangement, the illumination is subtly indirect, garden paths and flowerbeds are emphasized, large-scale spaces are structured and upgraded.
The light fixtures have a protection index of IP65. The light is not dimmable.
Please, note that the maximum load-bearing capacity of 150 kg must not be exceeded. The weight must be evenly distributed on the surface. The force must not be exerted using collision or a firmer thrust.
