About the Collection Vibia Dots
The LED wall lamps Dots by Vibia are a simple, versatile lighting system enabling individual lighting concepts. The collection by Martín Azúa contains models with a decorative light crown and light fixtures with a steered light cone. There is an array of materials and colours to choose from. All models have a clear, elementary formal language, can be effortlessly combined with each others and can be integrated in every environment.
The light body consists of lacquered ABS or massive natural wood. It is round and flat, and affixed to the wall with an aluminium structure so that there is a small distance between light body and wall. The LEDs are discreetly integrated and closed with polycarbonate diffusers that facilitate an even light distribution.
All the lights have the same diameter and the same depth. Depending on the model, the front is flat or features a hollow serving as a reflector. Depending on shape and direction of the hollow, it steers the light in one direction as a broader or as a narrower cone. It enriches the light fixture´s appearance with additional light and dark contrasts, breaks the symmetry of the design and lends it additional depth.
The Dots wall lamps with narrow light cone are suitable as reading lights at the head of the bed. They can be turned by 360 degrees to precisely steer the light. The model Dots 4662 also has an on/off switch discreetly located on the wall fixation. The Dots wall lamp with broad hollow is not steerable, yet can be mounted as uplight or downlight, and ensures diffuse direct or indirect illumination.
All light fixtures can be arranged in lighting landscapes to set individual accents with light crowns and light cones. The well thought-out colour choice enables several harmonious combinations that enable the Dots lights to subtly adapt to their architectural surroundings or attract the attention as colourful contrasts.
The four colour hues come from the Chromatica colour palette by Vibia that was especially developed for modern architectural and design concepts. They were designed to harmonize with each other and to adapt to current colour schemes and materials. The two wood kinds, in which Dots are available, adapt effortlessly to the light composition. All colours and materials produce a feeling of warmth and coziness and support the lighting effect of the integrated LEDs. They have an especially warm white colour temperature and a very good colour rendering. They produce a pleasant, natural light, suitable for living spaces, cozy lounges, cafes and similar surroundings.
Thanks to their universal formal language and compact size, the Dot LED lights can be integrated in nearly every surrounding. Their shallow depth makes them an ideal lighting solution in narrow corridors and in stairwells, because it allows for infinite combination possibilities and individual lighting effects. Functional single accents and strictly geometrical arrangements are possible like inviting lighting landscapes. Dots makes possible strong contrasts or monochrome colour schemes that fuse with the wall and leaves the stage to the light itself. The aim is always to create a cozy atmosphere and a free play with light, colour and material.
