About the Collection Vibia Balance
The floor lamps Balance by Vibia are expansive arched light fixtures with adjustable shades and remarkable contours. The design by Jordi Vilardell uses a counterweight system to move the shade upwards and downwards, to the right and to the left. In the spirit of the light label, the shade always keeps its balance parallely to the floor. The collection includes floor lamps with two different outreaches, in two materials for the shades and three metallic versions.
The Balance arched lights have a slender structure of stainless steel and aluminium. It consists of a vertical stem with an offshoot bent to the front and a delicate arm, holding a shade at its end and attached to the structure with a pull cord and thus held in balance. The shade has a classical, cylindrical shape. Depending on the version, it is made of aluminium threads or parchment paper. Because it is closed on top and below, the light is distributed glare-free and diffusely in all the directions.
The light fixtures can be switched on and off via a switch on the shade's underside. The brightness is adjusted via a dimmer on the electrical cable. For dimming, a dimmable E27 lamp is necessary.
The Balance lights appeal with a clear, yet remarkable contour. Each composing element has a function, however a very charming object is created, featuring single parts that are perfectly balanced in aesthetical terms. High-quality materials and surfaces upgrade the design and make that the light fixture harmonizes with many furnishing styles. The arched light is suitable as a light source in living rooms, for example above seating groups, in couch corners or above dining tables, yet can also spread a general light and thus replace a suspension.
