About the Collection Mawa Design Wittenberg 4.0
The lighting system Wittenberg 4.0 offers a great flexibility and a remarkable range of versions. The design by Jan Dinnebier was conceived at the turn of the millennium, and since then was constantly further developed so that meanwhile there is a fourth generation. The light fixtures are named after the first location where they were implemented, Luther's house in Wittenberg.
What started as a functional spotlight with halogen reflector lamps, is now based on the newest LED technique. Formally, the design was reduced to the minimum, so that the Wittenberg of fourth generation succeeds in providing more light with a smaller volume. The design comes without visible screws or cable and puts the beauty of its high-quality aluminium surfaces to the fore. Also the used lens technique convinces with a broad lighting surface, a very good glare reduction and light concentration. The integrated LEDs comply with the newest technological standards, with outstanding colour rendering, high luminous efficacy, dim-to-warm and more.
The Wittenberg 4.0 LED spotlights are suitable for illuminating living spaces, offices and commercial spaces and also for uses in galleries and museums. The timeless and absolutely clear design adapts to every architectural context, and the large choice of subcollections, light types and form versions covers every demand.
There is a choice of spotlights with multiple lamps for wall and ceiling, small single spotlights, suspensions for direct light and spotlights to put on the floor, on tables or on shelves.
Thanks to a special joint, the spotlight heads can be directed at will to guide the light precisely to the desired spot. To achieve the right lighting effect for every context, there is not only the choice between three illumination angles, but also the possibility to customize the light fixtures with separately available accessories.
Awarded with the Red Dot Design Award 2018, the LIT Lighting Design Award 2017 and the Design Plus Award, besides at Stylepark Selected 2018 and with a Special Mention at the German Design Awards 2018 and the Focus Open 2019.
