About the Collection Mawa Design Porto

The LED suspensions Porto by Mawa Design are a modular lighting system enabling to react to complex, space situations. The design is signed by Prof. Hermann August Weizenegger. The collection comprises a basis module and an extension module with which it is possible to build lights of various shapes and lengths.

The elongated suspended bodies are milled in a single aluminium piece and are powder-painted in one of four elegant colours. Details establish contrasts in brushed brass or stainless steel. A grey braid cable complements the design. A diffuser of satined acrylic directs the integrated LEDs' light downwards. They have a high colour rendering and a colour temperature of especially warm white 2700K. On request, they are also available with more neutral colours of 3000K and 4000K, especially well-suited for offices and public areas. With warm white light, Porto, above all, is suitable for dining table illumination or as a light source in living rooms with high ceiling.

An extension module can be used to create light fixtures with diverse length and size. The extension module is connected via a hinge joint with the basis module. The single elements can be arranged in a line and form closed, polygonal rings or individual shapes. For one basis module, it is possible to set in a maximum of five extensions. The elements must stand in an angle of at least 90 degrees to each other.
