About the Collection Mawa Design Oskar

The LED table lamps Oskar by Mawa Design are modern essential light sources for sideboards, tables and shelves. They consist only of a metallic base in which a E27 globe lamp can be screwed. The collection comprises a version with switch and one with dimmer on the electrical cable. The design is signed by Marco Schölzel and Martin Wallroth.

The small base is made of steel that, depending on the version, has a shiny finish or is powder-painted. It is cylindrical, yet with a chamfered upper and lower edge that strongly upgrades its silhouette. The light fixtures are equipped with a textile cable. For the black version, it is possible to choose between a grey and a bright orange cable, while the other versions have a grey cable. The switch or dimmer is located on the cable and is made of transparent synthetics.

The selected lamp impacts on the lighting effect and the Oskar table lamps' appearance. Matt globe lamps spread a diffuse illumination, while clear bulbs generate a sparkling light and showcase their LED filaments. The models with reflecting caps are appealing and block the light upwards. A light crown is created around the light crown. If the chosen reflecting cap matches the steel base, the object gains a coherent appearance, and also reflects its surroundings in a fascinating manner.
