About the Collection Mawa Design Eintopf / Etna
The wall and ceiling lamps Eintopf and Etna by Mawa Design are unrivalled minimalistic and flexible. Appearance and lighting effect can be customized by selecting a lamp. The collection comprises the cylindrical Eintopf and the conical Etna lights, each available as a metallic version or noble china version. The design is signed by Martin Wallroth.
The light bodies are reduced to a socket for a E27 lamp. The lamp bulb remains completely visible and consequently impacts on the light's appearance, but also the kind of emitted light. Depending on, whether a matt, clear or mirrored-dome equipped lamp is used, the achieved lighting effect is different - diffuse illumination, indirect lighting island or sparkling accents. Also the colour temperature, the dimmability and further factors can be influenced by the selected lamp.
The light fixtures Eintopf and Etna owe their universal character to a compact construction and very clear formal language. The cylindrical Eintopf has an especially small diameter of only 8 cm, while the wide Etna is shaped like a vulcano and is narrower below. Lamp, base and wall seem here to blend in with each other organically, so that Etna appears even more subtle than its cylindrical sister Eintopf. Both light types are made of steel and take advantage of a large choice of surface versions.
The KPM editions use noble china from the Royal Porcelain Manufacture, Berlin (Berliner Königlicher Porzellan-Manufaktur). The company with a 250 years long tradition manufactures light bodies carefully and passionately by hand. For this purpose 15 worksteps and 10 production stages are necessary. The porcelain's shiny white surface emphasizes every curve or edge, and lends the lights a very particular appeal.
Mawa Eintopf and Etna are universal lighting modules that find everywhere room and undertake the most varied tasks. They set single lighting accents for example next to stairs, illuminate whole rooms or narrow appartment corridors or flank doors, dressers and more.
