About the Collection Leucos Stacking

The light fixtures Stacking by Leucos combine glass cylindres in diverse lengths and colours. The collection comprises several floor lamps and suspensions featuring related and modified designs. The Stacking lights were designed by the design and architect studio Rockwell Group.

Stacking combines the most modern technology with traditional techniques of glass manufacturing. The floor lamps were launched in 2007 as an homage to the Venetian glass tradition and use a technique named "incamiciato", with which the milk glass is overlayed with colourfully coloured glass. When manufacturing the glass modules, several glass layers of different colours and permeabilities to light are superimposed by glass blowers. Each module is already a unique piece of art. If several of these modules are put together to create a floor lamp, they overlap and create further colour hues. A complex colour play and an atmospherical illumination are created.

Sixteen years later, the collection was enriched by several suspensions. They abstain from colour in favour of a pure aesthetics and think the Stacking design further. The light source are LED ribbons that surround a cylindrical synthetic diffuser. An even, diffuse illumination all around is achieved. The modules of transparent, blown borosilicate glass are placed around the lighting cylindre and lend the design subtle complexity and variation thanks to diverse lengths. The "naked" versions are devoid of glass modules and have a diffuser on its own, held by a simple metallic frame.

While the floor lamps set striking coloured accents, the suspensions are more discreet, but are no lesser elegant. The horizontal suspensions are suitable as light sources above dining tables ; the vertical lights can be excellently arranged in groups and rows and require rooms with high ceilings.

The floor lamps are equipped with GU10 reflector lamps. The lamps are located in the base and direct their light upwards in the glass column. On the contrary, the suspensions' LEDs are permanently integrated. With an especially warm white colour temperature and a high colour rendering, they ensure a pleasant, natural light as required above all in living rooms.
