About the Collection IP44.de Kal
The filigree LED spike lights Kal by IP44.de jut out from the soil and illuminate paths, flower-beds and plants. The collection comprises versions with cable and plug or with solar panels, each available in two heights. The design is signed by Klaus Nolting.
The Kal lights consist of a slender, vertical stem of black powder-painted cast aluminium that is only 2,2 cm wide. There is a diffuser of matt polycarbonate embedded in nearly the whole length of the stem sideways. A soft, diffuse light in one direction shines and enables a focused illumination. Thanks to the spike, the light fixtures can be moved anytime to steer the light differently. The spike is organically connected to the slender light stem and is made of powder-painted stainless steel. The LED lights appear modern and likeable, especially because of the soft curves of the metallic body and diffuser. Also the external LED driver has a rounded shape. It is located in the electrical cable and is water-proof, can also trouble-free lay on the floor and be concealed between plants.
The integrated LEDs' light is spread softly thanks to the diffuser. Its especially warm white colour temperature of 2700K and the very good colour rendering ensure a qualitative high-value illumination that is pleasant for human beings and animals. Its warm white light spectrum is mainly located outside from the perceivable area for nocturnal insects and thus does not disturb their orientation as much as cooler lighting colours.
With the aid of the spike, the Kal lights can be put in green areas or flower-beds, are anytime movable and directable. The version with plug requires a socket within reach of the cable, while the light with solar panel is indeed independent from the electrical net, but requires a sunny place for its solar panel.
The light fixtures themselves have a protection index of IP65, the driver a protection index of IP67 and the plug a protection index of IP44.
