About the Collection Ingo Maurer Bulb

The table lamps Bulb by Ingo Maurer are authentic iconic designs. It was the very first light fixture by the light artist Ingo Maurer, and designed in 1966 it was already included in the permanent design collection of the New York Museum of Modern Art in 1969. Beside the original light with transparent glass and chromed base, the collection also comprises a version with untreated brass base and a small LED light with battery and white diffuser.

According to the values of the Pop Art movement, it focuses on an everyday object that becomes a prestige object. The design creates a classical bulb in oversized and aesthetically simplified shape. The glass shade's soft curves and the base's round rings imitating the bulb's thread lend the light fixture a cozy and modern flair. They set stylish accents on sideboards and side tables, window sills and desks.

The diffuser is made of blown Murano crystal glass and, also the base is made by hand of high-quality materials. A lamp with LED filament and mirrored head is used and remains visible through the transparent glass. In terms of materials and shape, it reflects the light design.
