About the Collection Belux Oto
The idea for the Belux Oto lights came to life in the design studio OTO.berlin by Philipp von Lintel and Joel Hoff. Oto complements the product portfolio of Belux for the areas office, home office, hotels and the private living room. The collection is figurehead for a demanding illumination and features material and function in the zeitgeist of current and future-oriented light planning.
Oto comprises several models of suspensions or floor lamps and is a functional and aesthetics answer to the versatile illumination demands in modern offices. It offers an enormous flexibility to architects and designers when designing these rooms.
The light fixtures are made of aluminium, steel, silicone and PMMA. Oto's reflector is implemented in a technically sophisticated manner and framed with a circular silicone diffuser. For the designers, silicone was an especially interesting material, because it has properties such as flexibility, sturdiness, breakage resistance and a long lifespan. Its surface is matt and velvety and offers an optimum light diffusion. Next to the silicone ring, the reflector is composed of a LED circuit-board with touch protection for indirect light, a LED circuit-board for direct light, a reflector foil, a light decoupling plate and an end plate with prismatic structure for an optimal glare reduction.
The precise optical system with light guide plates and anti-glare plates ensures a homogenous illumination of the workplace with direct light (27%) and with intense indirect light (73%) for a pleasant room feeling. Furthermore, the indirect lighting optimizes the homogenous light distribution of the directly spread light. Finally, the silicone ring with remarkable geometry ensures an atmospherical ambient illumination. The UGR value (=Unified Glare Rating) is smaller than 15, indicates a very low direct glare and is ideally suited for desk illumination.
Oto is controlled via a touch dimmer that controls ambient light and direct light at the same time, while the indirect light is separately switchable and dimmable. The models with Multisens function have a day light and movement detector for an autonomous operation. Multisens makes possible the light's fully automatic operation at the workplace. The light detector provides constant lighting conditions at the workplace (constant lighting control). The movement detector recognizes human presence and consequently switches the light on and off (presence detection).
Cleaning instructions by the manufacturers: Please, clean the light fixture only with usual, non-aggressive cleaning products. Alcohol, benzol, acetone or acids can damage the surface.
